Divided by our characters but united by an unbreakable familiar bond. This depiction, which is inspired by dance of the zodiac, is a perfect example of the differences we have as individuals. Yet the driving force that holds this family together is the love they share for one another. The fierce but nurturing mother tiger guides her little pup as her other children wander calmly in the safety of their parent’s presence. The laying dragon symbolises the character of a strong father that watches over his family while shielding them from the outside world. The dynamic of a family that is growing together. The duty of a parent to protect and prepare their children for their journey’s will always be special. As we grow into our own people, we carry the stories and teachings of the people that came before us. That is the most precious gift we inherit.

A field of green is the bed on which this family sits on. The scales of the great dragon almost camouflaging with the base while a cascade of sun-kissed locks make up the flowing hair. A kaleidoscope of colours fills up the rest of the field with the remaining family members of the family. The bright orange mother tiger contrasts the lighter coloured pup she nurtures. As your eyes draw closer to the centre of the dial, you notice a snow white rabbit indulging in few carrots as the entire scene is perfectly rounded up by the strong brown ox on the centre dial. The client that ordered this piece wanted to create a piece that commemorates the bond that he holds with his family and can be passed down from generation to generation as an heirloom.
